AHIMA uses the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) security protocol, which is an standard industry tool used to provide data encryption. SSL protects the personal information transmitted from your computer to AHIMA, allowing for safe transmission of credit card information over the Internet.

For maximum protection, AHIMA advises that you use a browser with 128-bit encryption. Both Netscape and Microsoft provide free downloads of 128-bit encryption versions of their browsers at their Web sites.

If you receive an error message while trying to enter a secure page, it may be blocked by your company's firewall. Ask your system administrator to reconfigure the firewall to open port 443, which is the port used for secure HTTP.
